Straight answers before you buy.
How long do the batteries really last?
Up to 82 hours of continuous runtime on one set of 3 × AAA batteries. Used for three or four hours an evening, that is roughly three to four weeks of dinners before you swap them. Rechargeable AAAs work too.
Can they stay outside in the rain?
Yes. The globe and cap are sealed for outdoor use and rated waterproof and weatherproof, so they can live in the tree, on the pergola or off the caravan awning.
Are they really smashproof?
The globe is clear polycarbonate, not glass. We drop them on gravel and hard ground at our market demos and they keep glowing. Treat them like a torch, not a light bulb.
Does one remote control all of the lights?
Yes — every light within range of the remote responds together, so you can set the whole tree to White for dinner and switch to Colour Change for the party with one click. You can also toggle any single light with its pull-cord.
Can I set them to a single colour like blue or red?
No. Colour Change is a moving cycle — every globe slowly drifts through blue, red, green, purple and white and keeps going. If you want a steady look, choose White. There is no fixed single-colour setting.
What is the difference between Black and Silver?
Only the body finish. Both have the same clear globe, White and Colour Change modes, remote and 82-hour battery life. Matte black disappears into foliage and dark pergolas; brushed silver suits lighter timber and indoor spaces.
Do I need an electrician or any wiring?
No. There is nothing to wire and no cord to run — each light is fully self-contained. That is why cafés, wedding stylists and campers love them.
